Meet
Christie R Mize, OD
Dr Christie Mize joined the practice in 1994 upon her graduation from Southern College of Optometry with honors. She is also a West Virginia native, growing up in Parkersburg, WV where she is a 1986 graduate of Parkersburg South High School. She attended Marshall University where she met Dr Ben and also went to Memphis to attend optometry school. While at SCO she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa and received an award for Outstanding Senior Clinician.
Dr Christie is a member of the AOA, West Virginia Association of Optometric Physicians and is an InfantSee provider. Her professional interests include primary eye care, ocular disease and contact lenses.
In her spare time, Dr Christie enjoys family time, reading and exercising. She and Dr Ben have been married since 1990 and have three children- Jesse, Cari and Joshua.
Meet
J. Ben Mize, OD
Dr Ben Mize has been practicing optometry since 1993 when he graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr Ben moved to Ravenswood after graduation and bought Dr Charles Kelly’s optometric practice. He was born and raised in Belle, WV where he is a 1985 graduate of DuPont High School and attended Marshall University before being accepted into optometry school.
Dr Ben has been on mission trips to Nicaragua and Mexico, has been a Lion’s Club member, and is on the local school board. He has participated in legislative trips with the West Virginia Association of Optometric Physicians and is currently a trustee. He is also a member of the AOA, WVAOP and an InfantSee provider. His professional interests include primary eye care, pediatric optometry, ocular disease and dry eye treatment and management.
In his spare time, Dr Ben enjoys spending time with family, sports, traveling and trying new foods.

Jesse L Mize, OD
Dr Jesse Mize joined the practice in 2020 upon his graduation from Illinois College of Optometry. He has recently completed externships in San Diego, Chicago, Cincinnati and the Hershel Woody Williams VAMC in Huntington, WV. He is originally from Ravenswood, WV and is a 2013 graduate of Ravenswood High School. He attended Marshall University following high school until his acceptance into optometry school where he was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa and graduated with honors.
Dr Jesse is a member of the AOA and the West Virginia Association of Optometric Physicians. His professional interests include primary eye care, contact lenses, ocular disease and dry eye treatment and management.
In his spare time Dr Jesse enjoys sports, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
